Pohutukawa Tree

Pohutukawa Tree is a much-loved New Zealand Christmas song, written in 1994 by Linda Adamson, the creator of the Love to Sing range. She set out to capture a truly Kiwi Christmas by celebrating the pohutukawa, the native tree that bursts into brilliant red blossom each December and is often called New Zealand's Christmas tree, a reminder that in the Southern Hemisphere Christmas falls in summer.

Our Love to Sing choir sings it with bright, bouncy energy, and the song's actions, following how the tree grows from a tiny seed, make it a hit in classrooms everywhere. It's been sung with gusto in schools for 30 years, perfect for end-of-year concerts and singing at home.
