Music

Fill 4 glasses with different quantities of water. Add purple dye or food colour (or add red and blue drops to create purple) to each of the glasses.

Order the glasses from high to low sounds.

Play the song and use a pencil to tap the glasses in time to the beat (steady pulse) or rhythm (the short and long sounds that fit over an underlying beat). Try and match the pitch (the degree of highness or lowness of a note) of the song.

What is purple? E.g. a purple teddy bear, lavender, grapes

Draw, paint or make a purple collage.

Maths

Use the 4 glasses filled with different quantities of water (as for the music activity). Which has the most water? Which has the least amount of water?

Use non standardised measuring e.g. your fingers or blocks to estimate the differences in the quantities e.g. 2 fingers more or 2 fingers less.
