Music
Singing help to build language and memory skills, itÕs also FUN!
Children listen to ÒRat a Tat Tat.Ó
Choose a child to take the lead part and the rest of the class takes the group part
Choose children to create and make the sound effects.

Visual Art
Use paper plate, material, pipe cleaners, buttons, felt tip pens or paint to create a cat.

Dance
Explore the movements of a cat e.g. stretching, creeping, crawling, scurrying, pouncing etc.
Teacher plays a beat on a drum (or claps hands) while children do their cat move. When the teacher changes the speed of the beat (tempo) the children do another cat move.

Literacy
Sing and read along to the YouTube song to achieve multi-sensory learning ÒDo it, see it and hear it!Ó

Print out the song PDF
Read the song lyrics Ð ask children a variety of questions.
Re-read the song lyrics and ask children to join in.
Recognise and use a variety of punctuation when reading. Ò Ó ! ? . ,
Look at print and conventions (bold, italics).
Talk about interesting/challenging words and discuss what they mean.
Word study Ð phonic knowledge, compound words, rhyming word, contractions etc.
