Music

Divide the children into two groups. Children select body percussion (e.g. slapping knees) or instruments. One group plays the rhythm (short and long sounds that fit over an underlying beat) of the verses and the other group plays the beat (the steady pulse) of the chorus.

Dance

Support your weight - teacher specifies what 2 body parts are allowed on the floor e.g. hand and foot. The students are challenged to support their weight. This activity can be done individually, in pairs or groups.

Challenge - play the instrumental version of the song and match the moves!

Visual Art

Look at yourself in a mirror and draw or paint a picture of yourself.

Literacy

Sing and read along to the YouTube song to achieve multi-sensory learning "Do it, see it and hear it!"

Print out the song PDF

Read the song lyrics - ask children a variety of questions.

Re-read the song lyrics and ask children to join in.

Recognise and use a variety of punctuation when reading. " " ! ? . ,

Look at print and conventions (bold, italics).

Talk about interesting/challenging words and discuss what they mean.

Word study - phonic knowledge, compound words, rhyming word, contractions etc.
